Consciously carry out criticism and self-criticism

General Secretary of the Supreme Leader emphasized that criticism and self-criticism are fine traditions of our Party and effective weapons to enhance the fighting capacity of Party organizations and safeguard the unity and unity of the Party. At present, the first batch of the party’s mass line education practice activities have entered the stage of checking out problems and carrying out criticism, and whether they can consciously carry out criticism and self-criticism is the key to the effectiveness of this activity.

Needless to say, some party organizations and party member cadres are now less conscious of criticism and self-criticism. In their daily work, "humanitarianism" prevails, and they form a friendly and vulgar relationship. They use praise and self-praise instead of criticism and self-criticism. Even in democratic life meetings, they cannot carry out active and healthy ideological struggles, criticizing superiors for being afraid of trying to be hard on their shoes, criticizing peers for hurting their feelings, criticizing subordinates for losing votes, criticizing themselves for losing face, and giving "salute" to superiors. It can be said that in some places, the weapons of criticism and self-criticism have become "blunt" or even lost. We should attach great importance to this. The leaders of our party have repeatedly stressed that we must not lose the weapon of criticism and self-criticism. If we lose this weapon, we will lose the battle at work and ideologically, just like a soldier who loses a gun. In this educational practice, Party organizations at all levels and party member cadres should, in accordance with the requirements of the central authorities, seriously hold a special democratic life meeting and carry out criticism and self-criticism in the spirit of rectification.

Criticism and self-criticism should be serious. Resolutely overcome the thought of "disapproving" and not engage in the "ostrich" policy and pretend to go through the motions. We should focus on the "four winds" problem of formalism, bureaucracy, hedonism and extravagance, deeply analyze the ideological root of the problem, and analyze and study the measures to strengthen the construction of work style and oppose the "four winds", so as to solve both practical and ideological problems. Self-criticism should dare to expose shortcomings and highlight ugliness, not afraid of thorns, not afraid of pain, not covering up problems and not avoiding contradictions. Mutual criticism should know everything, talk endlessly, be realistic and dare to confront each other, dare to point out problems and sincerely help improve, and effectively play the role of blushing, sweating and expelling toxins.

Criticism and self-criticism should be realistic. Insist on telling the truth, say one thing, say two things, ask any questions, make it clear from the beginning, get to the point, have facts, evidence, analysis and suggestions. We can’t avoid the importance and neglect the reality, and criticize some trivial things, so as to "muddle along" without pain, and make the big things smaller and smaller. You can’t whitewash and flatter each other, engage in word games, take part in accidental amusement, be ambiguous and insincere, seemingly criticize but praise, and lightly raise some hopes without touching the ideological reality and the essence of the problem.

Democracy and unity are needed to carry out criticism and self-criticism. In accordance with the principle of "learning from the past, curing the disease and saving lives", we should take helping comrades, enhancing unity and promoting work as the starting point and the end result of criticism, adhere to equality among all the people in the party, be frank and open-minded, talk about problems historically and objectively, be fair to the public, be kind to others, do not vent personal anger, engage in unprincipled disputes, resist criticism with "criticism" and face to face.

To carry out criticism and self-criticism, it is crucial that the top leaders should take a good start. The top leaders should be strict with themselves with higher standards, seriously investigate the outstanding problems in personal and team style, and criticize the team and team members responsibly. We should also have the spirit of "I am glad to hear it", accept other people’s criticisms, correct them if there is one, encourage them if there is none, and do not engage in "settling accounts after the autumn" to create a good environment for criticism and self-criticism.
